Punch, the seven-month-old macaque who stole the internet\u2019s heart, has made a new pal at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan.<\/p>\n
And he\u2019s introduced his new buddy to the most important thing in his life<\/a>.<\/p>\n Punch and his new macaque friend cozied up to his stuffed orangutan during a tender moment at the zoo. @tacotocco \/ Instagram<\/p>\n In a heartwarming video shared on Instagram<\/a> this week, baby Punch and his new macaque friend are seen hanging out \u2014 as they both cozy up to Punch\u2019s stuffed orangutan toy.<\/p>\n Baby Punch went viral last month<\/a>, after the zoo outside Tokyo shared footage of the young macaque who had become completely attached to the stuffed orangutan \u2014 cuddling it as he falls asleep and dragging it everywhere he went despite it being bigger than him.<\/p>\n After he was abandoned by his mother after birth<\/a> and lacking maternal guidance, Punch had trouble fitting in \u2014 as highlighted by a particularly heartbreaking video emerging last month where he was beaten and dragged<\/a> by the older monkeys. The plush toy has helped him turn a corner.<\/p>\n Punch captured the internet\u2019s heart after he became attached at the hip to his stuffed animal. JIJI PRESS\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n In the new video, a Japanese blogger, who has been documenting Punch\u2019s adventures, said she asked staff about the incident.<\/p>\n \u201cThe zookeeper told me \u2018the other day, after the zoo closed, Panchi walked on a monkey\u2019s balls\u2026 That\u2019s why he got scolded,’\u201d she wrote, adding the zookeeper told her, \u201c\u2018he wasn\u2019t bullied, he was just learning the rules.
