{"id":50887,"date":"2025-08-07T01:41:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T01:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/50887\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T01:41:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T01:41:08","slug":"funnel-clouds-golf-ball-sized-hail-reported-in-manitoba-eccc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/50887\/","title":{"rendered":"Funnel clouds, golf ball-sized hail reported in Manitoba: ECCC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Environment and Climate Change Canada said a storm on Wednesday brought funnel clouds to parts of Manitoba. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Several reports of funnel clouds and golf ball-sized hail have been received by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) as a storm made its way through the province Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Kean Kokolsky, a meteorologist with ECCC, told CTV News that a storm north of Winnipeg tracked to near Dugald, Man., resulting in funnel cloud sightings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe can\u2019t confirm any touchdowns at this time,\u201d said Kokolsky.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cAn investigation will have to take place into whether there was an actual touchdown or not. And we\u2019ll have to gather some reports from the eyewitnesses and the public to see if there was any.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Tornado warnings were issued in several municipalities Wednesday, including the RM of Rockwood, RM of St. Andrews, RM of St. Clements, RM of West St. Paul, RM of East St. Paul and the RM of Springfield.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1754530868_987_SIULOMPRYNFINPXBLLNMANJLXY.png\"  width=\"800\" height=\"448\"\/>Weather system Dugald Manitoba A weather system in Dugald, Man., on Aug. 6, 2025. (Submitted) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Kokolsky said reports of up to golf ball-sized hail were received in Stonewall, Man.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He said the storm should leave the province this evening and is tracking toward the Ontario border. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cInto the evening here, as they approach the Ontario border, the severe threat should diminish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The southeast corner of the province remains under a severe thunderstorm warning, while many areas in the province, including Winnipeg, are under a severe thunderstorm watch. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Environment and Climate Change Canada said a storm on Wednesday brought funnel clouds to parts of Manitoba.
