LA JOLLA, Calif. \u2013 The Villanova University men’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Ball State University on Sunday, March 1, in La Jolla.
\nThe Cardinals claimed the doubles point and won five of six singles matches to secure the team victory.<\/p>\n

\nVillanova’s top pairing of Quincy Jones<\/a> and Jack Sherner<\/a> was locked in a tight battle at No. 1 doubles against Lancaster and Hayward, holding a 6-5 edge when the match was halted following Ball State’s clinch of the doubles point.
\nAt No. 2, Fletcher and Becaneil defeated Ethan Carr<\/a> and Thomas Wakefield<\/a>, 6-3, before Caragea and N. Hayward sealed the point with a 7-5 win over Kush Anand<\/a> and Will Monahan<\/a> at No. 3.<\/p>\n
\nBall State extended its lead with straight-set wins at the top two positions. Caragea defeated Will Monahan<\/a>, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 1, while Hayward earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over Quincy Jones<\/a> at No. 2.
\nThe Wildcats’ lone point came from Ethan Carr<\/a> at No. 3 singles. Carr defeated Milette in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
\nKimelman picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Thomas Wakefield<\/a> at No. 4. At No. 5, Justin Frattarelli<\/a> fell to Fletcher in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4. N. Hayward closed out the match with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Cameron Kruep<\/a> at No. 6.<\/p>\n
