John Oliver has savaged \u201cdeeply weird\u201d FBI Director Kash Patel and his girlfriend as part of a brutal MAGA takedown in the latest episode of Last Week Tonight.<\/p>\n

Patel, 46, was lambasted in a scathing monologue that, among other things, tackled his use of private jets to travel with his girlfriend, aspiring country singer Alexis Wilkins, 27.<\/p>\n

The FBI Director made headlines when he used the FBI jet to see Wilkins perform at a pro-wrestling event <\/a>in Pennsylvania in October, during the government shutdown. It was soon revealed that he had been using the jet to see his girlfriend on numerous occasions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Oliver showed a clip of Patel and Wilson appearing on The Katie Miller Podcast<\/a>, hosted by the MAGA wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.<\/p>\n

In the interview, which aired in December, Patel lashed out at criticism of his use of the FBI jet to watch his girlfriend perform at various events.<\/p>\n

Claiming it was \u201cironic\u201d people were saying that he was using the FBI jet to go \u201con vacation\u201d or \u201cto see your girlfriend perform,\u201d Patel justified the private travel on the public dime. \u201cIf I was actually abusing it, I would go see every one of her shows. I think I get to, like, 15 percent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Oliver said of Patel\u2019s maths, \u201cOh, so that\u2019s okay then. We all know it\u2019s not abuse if you don\u2019t do it as much as you technically could, you deeply weird man.\u201d<\/p>\n

The New York Times p<\/a>reviously reported <\/a>that it is not uncommon for the FBI director to use the private jet for personal reasons, as long as the director reimburses the government for the price of a commercial ticket for the trip.<\/p>\n

The FBI has stated<\/a> that Patel is following federal law in reimbursing his personal travel expenses.<\/p>\n

Oliver on Sunday refused to air any footage of Wilkins\u2019 song \u201cCountry Back\u201d (noting it was about \u201chow she wants her country back\u201d) but pointed out one of the top comments on the track\u2019s YouTube page<\/a>. \u201cDamn, Patel borrow the jet and went to listen to this?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d agree with that, except, again, he didn\u2019t borrow the jet,\u201d Oliver said. \u201cWe all paid for it. Thousands of dollars to take off, just a thought.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oliver was taking a jab at Patel\u2019s 2024 comments about his FBI predecessor Christoper Wray\u2019s use of the bureau\u2019s private jet.<\/p>\n

\u201cChris Wray doesn\u2019t need a government-funded G-5 jet to go to vacation,\u201d Patel said on Glenn Beck\u2019s podcast<\/a>. \u201cMaybe we ground that plane \u2014 $15,000 every time it takes off. Just a thought.”<\/p>\n

Wilkins met Patel in 2023 at an event at a friend\u2019s house in Nashville<\/a>, where the singer is based for her career. However, she has released no new music in three years. <\/p>\n

Last month, Wilkins scored the job<\/a> of singing The Star Spangled Banner ahead of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth\u2019s anti-abortion speech to Christian broadcasters at the NRB\u2019s \u201cFreedom 250\u201d event.<\/p>\n

The \u201cCountry Back\u201d video has had 125,000 views on YouTube, while Wilkins has a modest 5848 monthly listeners on Spotify.<\/p>\n

Oliver also took aim at Patel\u2019s cringeworthy appearance in the locker room after the U.S. men\u2019s hockey victory in the Winter Olympics in Italy, while the government said he was overseas on work duties.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, that is the director of the FBI,\u201d Oliver said, showing the divisive footage of Patel celebrating with a beer<\/a> with the hockey players. \u201cLooking like a little kid who won a prize for collecting the most canned goods and got to go into the locker room.\u201d<\/p>\n

The host ended his monologue by speculating how long Patel will retain his FBI job, repeating speculation<\/a> that Trump was \u201cdispleased\u201d with the optics of his Olympics antics.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs stupid as that locker room footage is, and it\u2019s very, very stupid it might actually be the perfect encapsulation of his tenure at the FBI,\u201d Oliver said<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause think about it: he\u2019s in somewhere that he doesn\u2019t belong, wearing something that makes him look ridiculous, and objectively having way too good of a time, and when all of this is said and done, and he\u2019s eventually gone, someone else is gonna have to clean up his f—ing mess.\u201d<\/p>\n
