A 21-year-old man is in custody after an attempted murder in Meadowood over the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a Domestic call for service where one woman was stabbed and another was threatened.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At 4:45 a.m. on\u00a0February 28 in the 300 block of Meadowood Drive, the 21-year-old suspect was armed with a knife began to stab and assault his 21-year-old girlfriend without\u00a0provocation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
An 83-year-old woman witnessed the altercation and attempted to intervene. She was\u00a0threatened and physically assaulted by the man. The elderly woman was able to contact the police.<\/p>\n
Shortly after 5 a.m.,\u00a0East District General Patrol officers arrived and provided lifesaving first aid to the victim, including applying chest seals and tourniquets. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where she remains.<\/p>\n
The suspect was located at the residence and placed under arrest.\u00a0He was later turned over to the Major Crimes Unit to conduct the investigation.<\/p>\n

\n\tTwo counts of Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm\u00a0
\n\tPossession of a Weapon
\n\tAssault
\n\t\u00a0
