{"id":510791,"date":"2026-03-03T03:52:03","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T03:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/510791\/"},"modified":"2026-03-03T03:52:03","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T03:52:03","slug":"arrest-made-in-brampton-homicide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/510791\/","title":{"rendered":"Arrest Made in Brampton Homicide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Region of Peel \u2013\u00a0Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have arrested and charged a man in connection with a recent homicide that occurred in Brampton.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Jan. 12, at approximately 6 p.m., the victim and the accused were in a parking lot near Castlemore Road and McVean Drive when they became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. The victim was assaulted, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to hospital. On Thursday, Jan. 15, the victim succumbed to their injuries.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old Abdifatah Ahmed of Brampton was arrested and charged with Manslaughter on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Ahmed was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205.
