Delta wants feedback on new Ladner Village brand, Chisholm Street upgrades<\/p>\n

The City of Delta wants to hear from residents and business owners on its new Ladner Village brand concepts and preliminary design for upgrades to Chisholm Street.<\/p>\n
As part of the broader Ladner Village Revitalization efforts, the city is developing a Ladner Village brand to express the area\u2019s identity, character and sense of place.<\/p>\n
Drawing from earlier community engagement, along with local history and conversations with community members, the city developed a unifying brand idea, \u201cShaped by the River,\u201d and two preliminary brand concepts \u2014 \u201cLayers Over Time\u201d and \u201cFlow and Connection\u201d \u2014 to support further feedback before a preferred direction is brought forward to council.<\/p>\n
The city is also seeking feedback on a preliminary design concept for Chisholm Street that builds on recent improvements at the Chisholm Street Wharf.<\/p>\n
The concept explores a more people-focused street that strengthens connections between Ladner Village and the waterfront, according to a press release, including a potential one-way westbound traffic configuration, angled parking, and a multi-use pathway connecting to nearby amenities.<\/p>\n
Parking considerations, informed by a recent parking study, will continue to be part of the discussion as community feedback is gathered, the release notes.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncil knows how deeply people care about the character of Ladner Village,\u201d Mayor George Harvie said in the city\u2019s release. \u201cThis engagement is about listening carefully and inviting residents and businesses to help shape how the village evolves, while respecting the history, character and sense of place that matter so much to the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Details and documents for both projects are available at letstalk.delta.ca\/ladner-village<\/a>, and resident and business owners can provide feedback via that webpage until March 22.<\/p>\n They can also attend an in-person engagement event on Haviland Street March 8, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., to review displays and ask questions of staff.<\/p>\n
