Police have released an image of a suspect vehicle that appears to be linked to the investigation into the targeted shooting of a Thornhill boxing gym owned by an Iranian-Canadian activist over the weekend.<\/p>\n
York Regional Police say they responded to reports of gunfire at a commercial plaza near Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue East at around 3 a.m. on Sunday. <\/p>\n
On scene, officers say they found \u201cdamage consistent with multiple rounds having been fired at the business,\u201d which investigators said was unoccupied at that time.<\/p>\n
Surveillance footage from the area captured a suspect wearing dark clothing exiting and re-entering that driver\u2019s seat of a dark-coloured SUV that was parked at the plaza where the incident occurred, they said.<\/p>\n
That vehicle fled the area and was last seen heading eastbound on Highland Park Boulevard<\/a>.<\/p>\n No injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s so dangerous,\u2019 says gym owner<\/p>\n CTV News Toronto previously reported about a shooting targeted a gym near the same intersection on Sunday. <\/p>\n The gym\u2019s owner said at the time that he thinks his gym was targeted due to his public support for recent military strikes on Iran<\/a>.<\/p>\n Police, however, say no motive has been confirmed and the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
