Ryan Gosling Interview, Reporter In Desert: Reacts<\/p>\n
Ryan Gosling<\/a> could not hide his genuine concern for journalist Jake Hamilton<\/a> after he video-called into his press junket interview with the Hollywood star while stranded in the middle of a desert.<\/p>\n While Jake tried to remain completely professional and keep the interview on track to promote Ryan\u2019s new movie, Project Hail Mary, Ryan could not get over the bizarre setup, and repeatedly ignored the questions about the movie to check that Jake and his girlfriend, Iris, were OK.<\/p>\n Jake kicked off the interview by casually greeting the star, but Ryan immediately looked confused, asking: \u201cAre you in a volcano?!\u201d<\/p>\n At this point, the reporter explained that he had been \u201crushing back from a tour of the Grand Canyon\u201d to do the interview, when the tour bus \u201cbroke down on the side of the road.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, I would do anything not to miss an interview with you, man,\u201d he then joked, to which Ryan quipped: \u201cYou look like Tom Cruise<\/a> in Mission Impossible, the one where he\u2019s climbing!\u201d<\/p>\n Visibly bemused, Ryan went on: \u201cThis is amazing. I don\u2019t want you to be stranded, but the production value on this\u2026 Do you technically need a permit to shoot there? It\u2019s like you\u2019re doing a Western!\u201d<\/p>\n Jake had the camera pan over to the broken-down tour bus, where several other people could be seen waiting around. \u201cOh, it\u2019s a bus!\u201d Ryan exclaimed, he then asked: \u201cDid you see the Grand Canyon?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWell, I saw the Grand Canyon. It was almost as beautiful as Project Hail Mary,\u201d Jake replied, expertly trying to get back to the movie. At this point, Ryan obliged, answering a couple of questions about his film, but he still couldn\u2019t get Jake\u2019s situation off his mind.<\/p>\n After Jake asked about his differing experiences of shooting movies set in space, Ryan bluntly asked: \u201cDo you have help on the way?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s going to be about an hour,\u201d Jake replied. \u201cSo, I don\u2019t know how long you got to talk to me, but I\u2019ve got about an hour.\u201d Ryan then asked: \u201cHold on, let\u2019s just\u2026 First things first, do you have water? Are you staying hydrated?\u201d<\/p>\n When Jake confirmed that he did have water, Ryan went on: \u201cYou sure? You\u2019re sure you have enough water for everyone? Because that could get ugly.\u201d He then jokingly advised Jake to \u201cstart squirreling\u201d away his water so he wouldn\u2019t have to share with the others. He laughed: \u201cABS, man, always be squirreling.\u201d<\/p>\n Jake then revealed that his girlfriend, Iris, was actually the one filming him for the video link, to which Ryan asked: \u201cCan she turn it around, please?\u201d When Iris appeared on camera, he said: \u201cYou\u2019re the MVP, Iris\u2026 Thank you for doing this!\u201d<\/p>\n Again, Jake tried to get the interview back on track, but Ryan wasn\u2019t having it, marveling at Iris\u2019s \u201cgreat handheld work.\u201d After Jake continued to push, Ryan finally agreed: \u201cThey were very different space experiences,\u201d with Jake playfully ribbing him for the brief answer. They had a back and forth about movies for some time, before Ryan admitted: \u201cI am worried about your hydration. You got a power bar?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe got about a half of bag of gummy worms,\u201d Jake revealed, he then started to wrap up the interview, which prompted Ryan to interject: \u201cDo you guys have a blanket if it gets cold?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI definitely want to hear that you got out of this,\u201d the star went on, with Jake assuring him that he\u2019ll let the studio know once he and Iris made it home.<\/p>\n As you can imagine, the interview almost immediately went viral after Jake shared clips of it to social media, with many people obsessed with how genuinely concerned Ryan was for the reporter. One popular tweet reads<\/a>: \u201cthe way you can see the gears in his head turning as he kept asking questions and barely cared about the actual interview anymore had me fucking crying \ud83d\ude2d\ud83d\ude2d\ud83d\ude2d\ud83d\ude2d god this gem of a man-”<\/p>\n Somebody else wrote<\/a>: \u201c2026 has its best interview & it’s only March 2nd.” Others praised Jake’s professionalism, with one tweet reading<\/a>: “Best thing about this is I love that Ryan keeps checking in on Jake, and Jake ALWAYS brings it back Project Hail Mary.”<\/p>\n \u201cthe way u keep trying to get back on with the interview but he is way more fascinated by your current situation \ud83d\ude2d\ud83d\ude2d\ud83d\ude2d\u201d another tweeted<\/a> in response to Jake\u2019s video.
