Born on February 12, 1945, in Bangalore, India, Oliver will be remembered as an active, generous, helpful, humorous, gentle, kind, and deeply loving man whose presence brought comfort and steady reassurance to everyone around him.

Oliver lived with a quiet but steadfast faith in the Lord that guided his life and shaped his character. His trust in God gave him strength, especially during life’s challenges, but it was the way he lived that faith — through kindness, humility, and service to others — that left the greatest impression. He believed in doing what was right, working hard, and treating everyone with patience and respect.

After a long and dedicated career at Berger Paints, Oliver made the courageous decision in 1996 to immigrate to Canada at the age of 51. With his beloved wife Colleen and son Chris by his side, he embraced the unknown with determination and resilience and worked tirelessly to build a new life, always focused on providing for his family and creating opportunity for the next generation.

Oliver was never one to sit still. He was always active — fixing something, building something, helping someone. He loved collecting tools and took genuine joy in putting them to use. His generosity was natural and constant, given without expectation.
He also had a gentle sense of humor that could lighten any room. He carried himself with humility, but those closest to him knew his quiet wit and the twinkle in his eye when he was teasing someone he loved.

He was a proud and loving father to Chris, a supportive and caring father-in-law to Tempa, and an adoring papa to Ethan and Miia, who brought him immense joy. He was also a cherished brother to Ian, Geoffrey, and Gail and above all, a devoted husband to Colleen for over 50 years. Their love was the foundation of his life — steady, faithful, and deeply rooted in partnership and mutual care. Oliver’s legacy is one of action and heart — of showing up, helping out, working hard, loving deeply, and trusting that each season of life had purpose.

He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends, and lovingly remembered in every shared story, every repaired project, every quiet act of kindness, and every smile inspired by his memory.

Family and friends are welcome for a mass followed by a Celebration of Life in the spring.
