Re. recent letters about border crossing:<\/p>\n
Border decisions are societal and political, not simply personal.<\/p>\n
Some may remember during the boycotts of South African goods that a few shoppers took the position that, by buying their favourite products or travelling to South Africa, they supported hurting non-white Africans.<\/p>\n
The ANC responded by stating that boycotts, divestments and sanctions were crucial tools against apartheid. Black and Coloured South Africans willingly absorbed temporary hardship with eyes on the goal.<\/p>\n
I suggest that those wishing to maintain relationships with Americans invite them to Canada; learn to do without a few American products at present.<\/p>\n
