For the second straight year, traffic at the International Bridge is down for February.<\/p>\n
Last month\u2019s 54,121 crossings were a 9.3-per-cent decrease compared with February 2025, which\u00a0itself saw a 13.5 per cent drop over February 2024.<\/p>\n
Traffic at the bridge dropped across all categories, with last month\u2019s 19,911 full-fare passenger cars dropping 9.8 per cent year-over-year, and the 28,691 commuter fare crossings similarly coming in at 8.3 per cent lower than last year.<\/p>\n
The bridge also saw 970 cars pulling trailers in February, a 5.3 per cent drop, as well as 4,549 commercial trucks \u2013 which saw the largest year-over-year decrease at 13.3 per cent.<\/p>\n
Last month\u2019s flat border traffic continues a year long trend that\u2019s seen bridge crossings fall every month since February 2025.<\/p>\n
Over the course of the year, traffic fell by as much as 35.5 per cent in April 2025, with all other months falling between 13.5 and 29.9 per cent compared to 2024 numbers.<\/p>\n
It was the beginning of February 2025 when former prime minister Justin Trudeau encouraged Canadians to visit tourist attractions here rather than travelling to the U.S.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Now is also the time to choose Canada. There are many ways for you to do your part. Pick Canadian made products,” Trudeau said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
