Celtic Fest returns this weekend to Museum of Surrey<\/p>\n

The annual \u201cCeltic Fest\u201d is back at the Museum of Surrey this weekend.<\/p>\n
The Cloverdale museum\u2019s Celtic celebration is earlier than normal this year.<\/p>\n
The event is usually held after St. Patrick\u2019s Day. However, the festival will be celebrated on March 7, 10 days ahead of St. Paddy\u2019s.<\/p>\n
\u201cCeltic Fest is an annual celebration that everyone can enjoy and participate in,\u201d Lynn Saffery, museum manager, said in a press release about the event. \u201cFrom Irish dancing to fiddlers playing jigs, Celtic communities from around Surrey have highlighted their traditions and customs at Museum of Surrey for two decades.\u201d<\/p>\n
Celtic Fest features something for everyone with live music, dance, history, and hands-on family activities.<\/p>\n
There will be live performances throughout the day. Performers from Steel School of Irish Dance, Langley Community Music School, and the Cedar Hills Caledonian Pipe Band are set to take the stage alongside arts and crafts, interactive activities, and community partner booths.<\/p>\n
\u201cAttendees are also invited to join Surrey Archives staff at the museum to discover the histories of Surrey\u2019s early Irish families as documented in the archival collection, including photos, maps, oral histories and more,\u201d the release noted. \u201cWhile attending Celtic Fest, visitors are welcome to explore the galleries, including Our Connection to Hockey at the Feature Gallery, TD Explore Zone (children\u2019s interactive gallery), and the Surrey Stories Gallery.\u201d<\/p>\n
Celtic Fest runs from 1 to 4 p.m. on March 7 at the Museum of Surrey. Entrance is free.<\/p>\n
