{"id":516601,"date":"2026-03-05T19:57:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T19:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/516601\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T19:57:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T19:57:08","slug":"another-month-another-slump-for-torontos-condo-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/516601\/","title":{"rendered":"Another month, another slump for Toronto\u2019s condo market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GTA condo sales last month slid to 1,088, a drop of more than 60% from the same time four years back, as investors and other buyers continued to desert the market in droves.<\/p>\n<p>Other property types \u2013 detached, semi-detached, and townhouses \u2013 are also seeing activity and prices contract sharply as economic unease and affordability challenges take their toll.<\/p>\n<p>Still, none have been as dramatic as the condo market\u2019s woes, which aren\u2019t expected to end anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>Despite some cause for optimism in certain pockets of the Toronto real estate market, mortgage broker-owner Mike Kazarian of Lenders\u2019 Choice Mortgages doesn\u2019t see green shoots in 2026 for the condo sector \u2013 even though it will eventually recover.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of builders have stopped construction so inventories are going to be lower, and where are we going to house people?\u201d he told Canadian Mortgage Professional. \u201cThat\u2019s going to be the problem in the next three, four years.
