The Winnipeg Jets have gone to overtime in 5 of their last 6 contests, pulling out a 3-2 win on Tuesday over the Chicago Blackhawks to pull within 9 points of the Seattle Kraken & the Western Conference\u2019s final wildcard spot. The Kraken had a chance to extend that last night against the St. Louis Blues, but a 3-2 loss has kept the deficit the same.<\/p>\n
Tonight\u2019s game at the Canada Life Centre in Manitoba will host two clubs at opposite ends of the NHL standings. The Tampa Bay Lightning have amassed 80 points to date, giving them the 5th best record which is vastly different than where the Winnipeg Jets 58 points puts them (27th). <\/p>\n
The Lightning (38-17-4) are attempting to hold off the Buffalo Sabres for the Atlantic Division title, with a slim 2 point lead heading into tonight\u2019s action. Everywhere you look the Bolts are putting up impressive numbers, with 210 Goals For (6th) and 158 Goals Against (2nd) amongst the best in the league. There have been 12 trades in the NHL since March 1st\u2026.but none have involved the Winnipeg Jets and I have read very little about even the sniff of a potential upcoming trade for our club. Typically management does a good job keeping their cards close to their chests, but the lack of any scratched players tonight for \u201croster management\u201d reasons indicates that nothing is imminent.
