Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to \u201cSin City\u201d this weekend (Sat., March 7, 2026) for UFC 326<\/a>, which takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the Paramount+<\/a>-streamed main event, former Featherweight champion Max Holloway defends his \u2018BMF\u2019 title against Charles Oliveira.<\/p>\n Checkout UFC 326\u2019s full card here<\/a>.<\/p>\n There are several promising fighters featured throughout the lineup this weekend, but let\u2019s spotlight one prospect you should really keep an eye on.<\/p>\n After doing everything he could on the regional scene, Luke Fernandez finally got the call for Season 9 of Contender Series<\/a> and made quick work of Rafael Pergentino, knocking him out in just 15 seconds (watch highlights<\/a>) \u2014 though it might have been one of the biggest mismatches in the show\u2019s history.<\/p>\n Nevertheless, the UFC desperately needs new blood at Light Heavyweight, and Fernandez could be exactly that.<\/p>\n After going 6-0 as an amateur, Fernandez continued to sharpen his skills in CFFC<\/a>, racking up six wins while capturing the Light Heavyweight title and defending it twice. While the level of competition wasn\u2019t super elite, it\u2019s about as good as it gets on the regional circuit.<\/p>\n His last two wins were arguably his most impressive, defeating former CFFC Middleweight champion Gregg Ellis before taking out Christian Edwards, a once-touted prospect who previously trained alongside Jon Jones.<\/p>\n Fernandez is primarily a grappler with vicious ground-and-pound, but he has clearly developed a taste for knockouts. He boasts an 88 percent finish rate, including five knockout victories. What truly separates him, however, is his fight IQ. If he doesn\u2019t finish opponents early, he has shown the patience and composure to win a full three-round fight.<\/p>\n
