\t\t\tScottie Scheffler returns to PGA Tour action this week for a three-week run that will almost certainly see him crowned FedEx Cup champion again \u2013 but all we want to know is what he\u2019s been up to with the newest addition to his trophy cabinet\u2026 <\/p>\n
Scottie Scheffler has been having a lot of fun with the Claret Jug since winning The Open<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n The World No.1 tamed Royal Portrush to win the 153rd edition of golf\u2019s oldest major and take one step closer to the completing the Grand Slam. <\/p>\n He then hot-footed it back to Dallas to \u201ctake a little bit of extra time resting\u201d after a hectic summer season that also saw him triumph at the PGA Championship, the CJ Cup, and the Memorial.<\/p>\n And as he prepares for his return to action at the FedEx Cup St Jude Championship, the first of the three PGA Tour post-season playoffs, Scheffler admitted he\u2019s been getting acquainted with our sport\u2019s most famous trophy in his time off.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had a party two weeks ago at home with some of our friends, and everybody got to drink out of it,\u201d he told reporters at TPC Southwind. \u201cIt was a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n Scheffler also revealed that he took the Claret Jug to his home club, Royal Oaks<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI think Meredith was getting a haircut or something, and I was resting and so I had Bennett, and I took him to Royal Oaks,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n \u201cHe whacked some golf balls around, and we hung out for a bit. I took him to the 19th hole with me, and I got some pretty funny pictures with Bennett sitting in the 19th hole at the men\u2019s only grill where I think you\u2019ve got to be 19 to get in there. <\/p>\n \u201cBut I figured if we bring in a couple major championship trophies with us, they\u2019ll let the rules slide on that one.\u201d<\/p>\n Of the four biggest titles in the men\u2019s game, Scheffler is now just a US Open victory away from joining golf\u2019s most exclusive club<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s pretty cool. The Masters, you get the Green Jacket for a year and the Wanamaker is a big old trophy, and then the Claret Jug is kind of the perfect size where you can just carry it around and sometimes people don\u2019t even really know you have it. It\u2019s fun.\u201d<\/p>\n Talking of fun, Scheffler also opened up about his starring role in Happy Gilmore 2<\/a> \u2013 in which he stole the show with a number of killer one-liners.<\/p>\n \u201cThe reviews for the movie so far have been great. I really enjoyed watching it,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n \u201cAdam Sandler and his team does such a great job of making us comfortable there, and it\u2019s one of the things I told them after we got done filming the movie. \u2018was like, \u2018You\u2019re doing a great job, I think the movie is going to turn out great, but most importantly, everybody on the movie set was tremendous.\u2019 Everybody was relaxed. They worked hard but they had fun while they were doing it.<\/p>\n I thought they did a great job with the script and the golfers did a great job acting. Will Zalatoris in his role cracked me up. The dinner scene, there were so many good one-liners in it.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had a ton of fun filming it.
