Canada\u2019s tallest mixed-use building is nearing completion.<\/p>\n

Today, the team behind the upcoming Pinnacle SkyTower announced that construction has reached the top floor of the ambitious tower in the city\u2019s downtown core. The first residential tower in Canada to reach 106 storeys, the project, taking shape at Pinnacle One Yonge in the Yonge and Lakeshore area, is expected to be completed later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Expected to reach a final height of 351.85 m (or 1,154 ft), Pinnacle SkyTower will boast 958 residential units, the new Le M\u00e9ridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel, and 80,000 square feet of amenity space.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The SkyTower\u2019s highest floor is in line with the CN Tower\u2019s main observation level.<\/p>\n

The CN Tower, the tallest free-standing structure in Canada, stands at 553.3 m (or 1,815.3 ft).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cPinnacle SkyTower offers the exclusive opportunity to live in a fully customized home in the tallest building in Canada, creating a new standard for luxury living in Toronto.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects (the firm, currently redeveloping the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and OpenROM, was recently tapped to design the new Ontario Science Centre at Ontario Place), Pinnacle International said the building will feature a 12-sided, tapered design with an \u201caerodynamic profile.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The record-breaking skyscraper will, the developer says, \u201coffer modern living at its finest,\u201d providing residents with high-end finishes, materials and appliances. There are also plans to open a restaurant on the top floor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Hariri Pontarini\u2019s website, the SkyTower will offer expansive amenities, including a pool, yoga studio, fitness centre and entertainment space.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The lower 12 floors will be home to the Le M\u00e9ridien hotel, which will boast 220 rooms.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pinnacle SkyTower is part of the broader Pinnacle One Yonge site, a 4.4 million-square-foot mixed-use development along the waterfront that, once complete, will be home to live-in suites, retail units, a hotel, and outdoor amenities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The entire development project spans two blocks and will, once complete, offer 5,000 units\u2013including affordable rentals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
