{"id":518281,"date":"2026-03-06T14:14:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T14:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/518281\/"},"modified":"2026-03-06T14:14:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T14:14:07","slug":"carl-froch-sees-a-ko-in-conor-benn-vs-regis-prograis-this-is-his-toughest-fight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/518281\/","title":{"rendered":"Carl Froch sees a KO in Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis: &#8220;This is his toughest fight&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carl Froch has given his prediction and thoughts on Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis, which takes place at London\u2019s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11.<\/p>\n<p>It was confirmed on February 26 that Benn will feature on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov, just under a week after <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/conor-benn-signs-with-dana-white\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Brit announced his signing with Zuffa Boxing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The stunning turn of events saw the 29-year-old leave Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn for UFC boss Dana White, inking a one-fight deal which is reportedly worth eight figures.<\/p>\n<p>As for the fight itself, many have offered contrasting opinions on Benn facing Prograis, a former two-time world super-lightweight champion.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his decorated career, the 37-year-old is thought to be well past his best, especially after going toe-to-toe with fellow veteran Joseph Diaz last August.<\/p>\n<p>The pair engaged in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringmagazine.com\/news\/regis-prograis-outpoints-joseph-diaz-in-10-round-slugfest-full-duarte-sims-undercard-report-1KSEJ6Y1jHwsK2RwjAgsbP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">an enthralling 10-round war that saw Prograis emerge victorious<\/a>, though his performance was ultimately a far cry from what he produced against Josh Taylor.<\/p>\n<p>Back then, in 2019, the American lost a wafer-thin majority decision but nonetheless showed his world-class skills and undeniable doggedness.<\/p>\n<p>With Prograis now fighting Benn at 150lbs, though, many feel that he is too undersized for \u2018The Destroyer\u2019, who outpointed Chris Eubank Jr at 160lbs in November.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing that viewpoint, Hall of Famer Froch said on his <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/IjhH3Eq1Xac?si=kbE6Aaps4VwFu6D_\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube channel<\/a> that the Brit should claim a stoppage victory while, at the same time, encountering his toughest test thus far.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s fighting Regis Prograis, who\u2019s actually a smaller man and an older man \u2013 [a former] 140lb world champion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t warrant the [reported] $15m, [but] I\u2019m glad he\u2019s getting paid well. He\u2019s the fighter \u2013 he\u2019s the one taking the punches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a good choice for Conor Benn because [Prograis has] been inactive. He\u2019s past his best, he\u2019s been beat, he\u2019s coming up in weight and he\u2019s fighting someone who\u2019s very big in Conor Benn. But here\u2019s the caveat: who the f**k\u2019s Conor Benn ever beat?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is probably his toughest fight so far.
