\n\tBritney Spears<\/a>\u2019 ex-husband Kevin Federline<\/a> is set to publish a new memoir, You Thought You Knew, on Oct. 21.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the book, Federline will chronicle his working-class childhood and his time as a professional dancer, appearing alongside some of the biggest acts of the Nineties and 2000s, including Destiny\u2019s Child, Michael Jackson, and P!nk. He will, of course, also write about his relationship with Spears<\/a>, digging into the challenges of dating and raising kids while under massive media scrutiny, and also navigating the aftermath of their divorce.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis book is extremely intimate and transparent,\u201d Federline said in a statement. \u201cI achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak, and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence. If you\u2019ve ever had questions, you\u2019ll find answers here.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tYou Thought You Knew will be published as the debut offering from Listenin<\/a>, a new audio-first imprint from Barracuda Bay Productions. While it will be released on audiobook platforms, print and digital versions will also be published.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tFederline got his start as a back-up dancer in the mid-Nineties. Before dating Spears, he was in a relationship with the actress and singer Shar Jackson, with whom he had two children. Jackson was reportedly still pregnant with their second child when Federline began seeing Spears in 2004. Later that year, Spears and Federline were married<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring their two years together, Spears and Federline were under near-constant tabloid scrutiny. But they also welcomed attention on their own terms, starring in a reality series called, Britney & Kevin: Chaotic. Federline and Spears had two children together, Sean and Jayden, before Spears filed for divorce<\/a> near the end of 2006.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tTheir split was finalized in July 2007, and for many years Federline had sole custody of Sean and Jayden, especially during the years Spears was in her controversial conservatorship<\/a>. (Since the conservatorship ended<\/a>, she\u2019s been spending more time<\/a> with her children.)<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the end of his relationship with Spears, Federline has largely avoided the spotlight, working as a DJ and granting the occasional interview<\/a> (including a 2022 conversation with the Australian version of 60 Minutes).
