Welcome to The Leafs Nation\u2019s 2026 NHL Trade Deadline live blog, where we\u2019ll capture all the latest trades, transactions, credible rumours and other news involving the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> and their rivals.Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving should be among the busiest people in the league on Friday. Toronto already traded forward Nicolas Roy to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for a top-10 protected 2027 first-round pick and a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick on Thursday. Roy was previously acquired in a trade with the Vegas Golden Knights involving Mitch Marner. As the Maple Leafs pivot towards a retool, Roy makes a lot more sense<\/a> on the Avalanche, a leading contender to win the Stanley Cup.Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Bobby McMann and Scott Laughton are all on the trade block, as all three players were scratches from Toronto\u2019s past two games due to roster management purposes<\/a>. Ekman-Larsson has stated that he wants to remain in Toronto, but he\u2019s the team\u2019s best defenceman and could command a major return from a contending team. The Fourth Period\u2019s David Pagnotta<\/a> listed the Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens among the teams that have inquired about Ekman-Larsson.<\/p>\n

Simon Benoit, Brandon Carlo, Calle Jarnkrok, Nick Robertson, Max Domi, Matias Maccelli, Anthony Stolarz and Troy Stecher are among the other Maple Leafs who could be on the move. Benoit, Jarnkrok and Stecher are widely believed to be relatively inexpensive on the seller\u2019s market, while it\u2019s likely that Robertson and Stolarz could command the greatest return among this cohort.<\/p>\n

Toronto is looking to add to its under-25 player base, with Matthew Knies and Easton Cowan as the lone members of the next core. It could be a franchise-altering day for the Maple Leafs. 3:15pm ET: David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period says the Leafs also managed to move Scott Laughton before the deadline passed. No word yet on destination or return.<\/p>\n

3:09pm ET: Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports that Anaheim has traded veteran centre Ryan Strome to Calgary for a seventh-round pick in what appears to be a salary dump for the Ducks.<\/p>\n

3:05pm ET: Darren Dreger confirms an earlier report from The Athletic\u2019s Jeremy Rutherford that the St. Louis Blues have dealt Justin Faulk to the Detroit Red Wings, with Detroit sending a first-round pick as well as a third-round pick the other way. Detroit had been rumoured to have interest in Leafs blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson prior to their acquisition of Faulk.<\/p>\n

3:04pm ET: Elliotte Freidman reports that the Leafs managed to deal Bobby McMann just under the wire. He will be heading to the Seattle Kraken. Frank Seravalli reports that the Leafs will receive a second-round pick in 2027 along with a fourth-round pick in the 2026 draft. 3:00pm ET: The trade deadline has officially passed with no indication that the Leafs have completed a trade. There are always deals that come through late, so stay tuned to see if general manager Brad Treliving was able to accomplish anything.<\/p>\n

2:48pm ET: Anthoni Di Marco of Daily Faceoff reports that Philadelphia never received an offer that met their desired price for Rasmus Ristolainen. It appears Toronto may be facing a similar issue with Oliver Ekman-Larsson.<\/p>\n

2:40pm ET: Chris Johnston says on TSN\u2019s Tradecentre that he believes the Leafs have lowered the asking price for Bobby McMann, and a second-round pick might get it done at this point.<\/p>\n

2:28pm ET: Darren Dreger of TSN has the first details on the return for St. Louis in the Brayden Schenn trade.<\/p>\n

1st, 3rd and a prospect return for Schenn.<\/p>\n

2:16pm ET: Seravalli confirms that Brayden Schenn has waived his no-trade clause to go to the New York Islanders. No word on the return for St. Louis yet.<\/p>\n

2:16pm ET: Friedman reports that the Detroit Red Wings have dealt towering winger Elmer Soderblom to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a third-round pick, perhaps clearing the way for a more established addition to their forward group.<\/p>\n

2:08pm ET: Both Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet and Frank Seravalli report that the St. Louis Blues are finalizing a deal that will send captain Brayden Schenn to the New York Islanders. Business is certainly starting to pick up with less than an hour remaining before the trade deadline.<\/p>\n

2:04pm ET: Chris Johnston of TSN and The Athletic reports that the San Jose Sharks have traded former Leaf defenceman Timothy Liljegren to the Washington Capitals.<\/p>\n

1:54pm ET: Sportsnet\u2019s Elliotte Friedman reports that the Carolina Hurricanes are acquiring Nicolas Deslauriers from the Philadelphia Flyers, perhaps closing the book on the earlier rumours regarding their pursuit of a bottom six forward. It remains to be seen if this move takes them out of the running for further additions.<\/p>\n

1:36pm ET: Pagnotta says the Carolina Hurricanes are closing in on a deal for a bottom-six forward. Scott Laughton would fill a need for them as a versatile piece who can play down the middle or on the wing, while helping out on the penalty kill.<\/p>\n

12:59pm ET: David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period says the Montreal Canadiens have reengaged in talks surrounding Calgary Flames centre Nazem Kadri, with Patrik Laine being a candidate to head back the other way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As just mentioned on the @DailyFaceoff<\/a> Panel with the boys, told the Canadiens have circled back with the Flames recently on Nazem Kadri. Talks continue. Some chatter Patrik Laine could be in play here if this gets to the finish line.<\/p>\n

12:42pm ET: Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports that the Seattle Kraken have signed captain Jordan Eberle to a two-year contract extension. The Kraken are currently holding down a playoff spot, and they have been rumoured to be looking for upgrades to their group.<\/p>\n

12:15pm ET: Seravalli is first with the details on the Perry trade between Los Angeles and Tampa, reporting that the Lightning are sending a second-round pick to the Kings. Perry\u2019s veteran leadership carries weight, and he has remained productive, but the return for Los Angeles indicates that prices remain high leading up to the deadline.<\/p>\n

12:12pm ET: Sportsnet\u2019s Elliotte Friedman reports that the Los Angeles Kings have dealt veteran forward Corey Perry to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning had previously been linked to Leafs forward Scott Laughton, and it is unclear if this addition will take them out of consideration for his services.<\/p>\n

11:41am ET: Frank Seravalli reports that the Minnesota Wild have made another addition, reuniting veteran Nick Foligno with his brother Marcus in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks. The Wild have continued to load up for what they hope will be a deep playoff run, but this move certainly takes them out of the running for Bobby McMann.<\/p>\n

11:36am ET: Darren Dreger reports on TSN\u2019s Tradecentre that the Detroit Red Wings have shown interest in Leafs defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, but they have been unwilling to meet Toronto\u2019s asking price to this point.<\/p>\n

11:130am ET: Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic reports that teams have been asking about Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Rasmus Ristolainen. The Flyers are in a similar position with Ristolainen as the Leafs are with Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Brandon Carlo, as he is under contract beyond this season, but it appears that both clubs are holding firm on their asking prices.<\/p>\n

11:08am ET: Insider Frank Seravalli reports that the San Jose Sharks have signed Alex Nedeljkovic to a contract extension, taking a potential target off the goaltending market, and likely means the Sharks won\u2019t be in the market for an upgrade at the position. Leafs netminder Anthony Stolarz has reportedly drawn interest from rival clubs.<\/p>\n

11:01am ET: Darren Dreger says on TSN\u2019s Tradecentre that the Leafs have yet to receive an offer that would make them consider moving Oliver Ekman-Larsson, with Toronto\u2019s recent ask from the Edmonton Oilers being first and second-round picks, along with a prospect. The Leafs will continue to hunt for offers on the veteran blueliner who is under contract for two years beyond this one, but it will take a significant package to pry him out of Toronto. Dreger also reiterates that the Leafs have moved on from the idea of a contract extension for Bobby McMann, and they are expected to move him today.<\/p>\n

10:50am ET: Further to David Pagnotta\u2019s earlier report, TSN\u2019s Darren Dreger says that the Leafs are expected to deal Bobby McMann today. They have explored a contract extension, and it could be revisited if he makes it to free agency this summer, but as of now, the team prefers the package of draft picks they expect to get in return for the 29-year-old winger.<\/p>\n

Unless there\u2019s a sudden change, Toronto prefers the picks expected in trade return for McMann over an extension. Signing McMann back could be revisited in the summer.<\/p>\n

10:24am ET: Pagnotta confirms that Minnesota has acquired Bobby Brink from Philadelphia in exchange for 22-year-old defender David Jiricek, a former first-round pick.<\/p>\n

10:21am ET: Minnesota Wild beat writer Michael Russo of The Athletic reports that the Wild are closing in on a deal to acquire winger Bobby Brink from the Philadelphia Flyers. Brink is a young scoring winger with good speed, and his acquisition likely means you can cross off Minnesota as a potential destination for Bobby McMann.<\/p>\n

10:11am ET: The Fourth Period\u2019s David Pagnotta reiterates that the Leafs will be active ahead of this afternoon\u2019s deadline, with multiple teams showing interest in pending UFA Bobby McMann. He is expected to be moved today after failing to come to terms with the Leafs on a contract extension.<\/p>\n

We know Toronto will be active today. Barring a change in the team’s current stance, the Maple Leafs are expected to trade Bobby McMann today. Multiple suitors in play.<\/p>\n

9:48am ET: Along with the Maple Leafs, the St. Louis Blues are expected to be one of the most prominent sellers ahead of the deadline. Blues beat writer Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic provides an update on where things stand with a number of Blues players, including star centre Robert Thomas, who the Leafs have reportedly checked in on. If Thomas moves, it will have to be a massive deal, and it may have to wait until the offseason, at which time the Leafs should be better positioned to make a big acquisition. Beyond Thomas, the availability of Justin Faulk could impact the market for Leafs defenders Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Brandon Carlo.<\/p>\n

Some thoughts:<\/p>\n

You’d expect the Blues to be busy, but it takes trade partners. Army’s prices have been high, but push comes to shove when this day finally comes.<\/p>\n

— It’s been quiet on the Thomas front. A few teams could make a last-ditch effort, otherwise this is headed to the\u00a0Show more<\/a><\/p>\n

9:06am ET: Kevin Weekes of ESPN and NHL Network says the goalie market could be worth watching today, with Leafs netminder Anthony Stolarz among the names being discussed in potential trades. Stolarz currently counts for $2.5 million against the cap with a four-year, $15 million extension set to kick in on July 1st. With Stolarz and Woll both under contract, and Dennis Hildeby requiring waivers in order to be sent to the AHL next fall, the Leafs could be inclined to deal from a position of strength.<\/p>\n

11:08pm ET (Thursday): David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports that there is plenty of interest in Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Scott Laughton, with the Tampa Bay Lightning among the clubs that are poised to add to their roster.<\/p>\n
