{"id":519037,"date":"2026-03-06T22:15:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T22:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/519037\/"},"modified":"2026-03-06T22:15:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T22:15:11","slug":"vancouvers-burrard-bridge-closing-temporarily","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/519037\/","title":{"rendered":"Vancouver\u2019s Burrard Bridge closing temporarily"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Burrard Bridge is set to close this weekend in both directions due to the removal of a large crane at the construction site on the Kitsilano side.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Vancouver says that the bridge closure will be in effect on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bridge\u00a0is\u00a0anticipated\u00a0to fully reopen\u00a0at\u00a0noon\u00a0on both days,\u201d the city said in a written statement.<\/p>\n<p>While all vehicle lanes will be closed, the east side bicycle lane will remain open for cyclists travelling northbound.<\/p>\n<p>Pedestrians will be able to cross the bridge only on the east side sidewalk as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you are travelling in and around the area\u00a0this weekend,\u00a0including sport fans heading to Rugby Sevens at BC Place,\u00a0plan ahead\u00a0and allow extra time for your journey,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" data-id=\"4401742\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/vlcsnap-2026-03-06-11h24m07s319-1024x576.png\" alt=\"Vancouver\u2019s Burrard Bridge closing temporarily for construction crane removal\" class=\"wp-image-4401742\"  \/>Vancouver\u2019s Burrard Bridge closing temporarily for construction crane removal.
