Ronda Rousey’s camp have hinted that she will make a UFC return in the imminent future.<\/p>\n

That is the information held by UFC legend Chael Sonnen, who has claimed he has spoken to ‘Rowdy’ openly about a long-awaited comeback to the octagon.<\/p>\n

‘Rowdy’ uploaded training footage of her in the cage, leaving MMA fans excited<\/p>\n

Rousey hasn’t fought in the UFC since 2016 where she was beaten by Amanda Nunes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And she wasn’t expected to ever return having divulged that concussions have prevented her from competing in combat sports again.<\/p>\n

But the rumour mill has heated up with Rousey returning to MMA gyms<\/a> to train in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

And Sonnen has suggested that after chatting to the former UFC star, she is eyeing a showdown with rising star Kayla Harrison.<\/p>\n

He said on his YouTube channel: “Ronda Rousey, going to come back, and fight the winner of [Amanda Nunes vs. Kayla Harrison], as long as the winner is Kayla.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow this is a story, and let me tell you what part of this I can confirm. I can confirm the story came from Ronda. <\/p>\n

“In this space, it\u2019s always \u2018Ronda\u2019s camp, one of Ronda\u2019s people. I understand those things. But it was. <\/p>\n

“The absolute inner circle of Ronda has let it be known that she will take on the winner of Amanda and Kayla, as long as it\u2019s Kayla.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo in other words: \u2018I\u2019ll return to fight for the title, if Kayla needs an opponent, although that\u2019s not how comebacks go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sonnen went on on to add that he believes Rousey’s plan will collapse and she will not return.<\/p>\n

Harrison signed for the UFC in 2024 after a dominant stint in the PFL, and is on a three-fight winning streak.<\/p>\n

She beat Rousey’s former rival Holly Holm, Ketlen Viera before claiming the belt by beating Julianna Pena in June.<\/p>\n

What are the chances of Ronda Rousey returning to the UFC?<\/p>\n

Nunes has stated she wants to return and fight Harrison for the belt, with multiple dates being eyed.<\/p>\n

And Harrison’s title win coincides with Rousey’s return to training, but it is unclear if it simply convenient timing.<\/p>\n

But several of the UFCs biggest names including Jon Jones<\/a> and Conor McGregor<\/a> have one eye on a comeback in 2026, after Donald Trump announced plans for a UFC White House card<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For now Rousey appears content outside of the cage.<\/p>\n
