\n Hollywood star Christina Applegate<\/a> has said that she spends a lot of time in bed now because of her multiple sclerosis<\/a> (MS).\n <\/p>\n

\n In 2021, the \u201cDead to Me\u201d actress revealed that she had been diagnosed with MS. Two years later, she told Vanity Fair<\/a> that she was unlikely to appear on camera again due to her struggles with the disease.\n <\/p>\n

\n MS affects the central nervous system and is considered an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system attacks its own healthy cells. MS, which has no cure, affects quality of life and can be disabling.\n <\/p>\n

\n Now the actress, whose memoir \u201cYou With the Sad Eyes\u201d is due to publish on March 3, has said the pain she experiences has made it difficult for her to move around.\n <\/p>\n

\n She told People<\/a> magazine in an interview published this week that she mostly stays in bed, except when she tries to take her 15-year-old daughter Sadie to school.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cI want to take her; it\u2019s my favorite thing to do. It\u2019s the only time we have together by ourselves,\u201d she said. \u201cI tell myself, \u2018just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.\u2019 And that\u2019s what I do.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n On a pinned post on Instagram<\/a> last month, Applegate can be seen speaking from her bed.\n <\/p>\n

\n She currently presents a podcast about living with MS called MeSsy<\/a>, alongside fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler \u2013 best known for her role as Meadow Soprano \u2013 who also has the condition.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cMy life isn\u2019t wrapped up with a bow,\u201d Applegate said. \u201cPeople\u2019s lives, sorry for lack of a better term\ufeff, f**king suck sometimes. So I\u2019m being as honest and raw as I possibly can.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Applegate\u2019s upcoming book follows her from her early and tumultuous home life in Laurel Canyon in the 1970s and 1980s to her stardom on the sitcom \u201cMarried\u2026 with Children\u201d and beyond.\n <\/p>\n

\n Details released by publishing umbrella group Hachette<\/a> states: \u201cA Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in 2021 confined her to a king-sized bed and the company of memories she\u2019d rather forget: memories of the self-doubt and body dysmorphia that stalked her meteoric rise, of her mother\u2019s fight against addiction and abuse after her father left, and of the tax life had taken on her body and mind that was suddenly coming due.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Applegate told People: \u201cWe all have come from somewhere, some places more painful than others, and it\u2019s what you do with it, I guess. This is not an inspirational book, by any means. But it can inspire.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Admitting the book wasn\u2019t easy to write, she said it\u2019s \u201cabout a little girl with sad eyes who ended up becoming Christina Applegate.\u201d She admitted that the sad eyes remain \u201cbut she\u2019s a stronger, different, resilient human being.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
