The individuals who recently wrote letters about how Surrey has deteriorated are not wrong. As someone who has lived in Fleetwood for nearly 30 years, I share their frustration and concern.<\/p>\n
Residents should not have to constantly look over their shoulders or feel uneasy walking into local businesses at night. Yet around places such as the alleys behind Fleetwood Park Village and near McDonald\u2019s and Tim Hortons, open drug use and disorder have become a regular sight.<\/p>\n
Many people have called the RCMP, only to see the same pattern repeat itself. By the time officers arrive, the individuals involved are often gone, or the problem simply moves somewhere else.<\/p>\n
Our community is tired of hearing the same promises while conditions continue to decline. Residents deserve safer streets and leaders willing to confront these problems honestly instead of pretending everything is fine.<\/p>\n
With the next municipal election only months away, voters will remember which leaders chose to act, and which ones will be held accountable for failing us.<\/p>\n
