The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> have shown what their priority is this offseason, and that starts with defensive tackle and former 1st round pick Jordan Davis<\/a> \u2014 and they made some NFL history in the process.<\/p>\n \u201cJordan Davis reached agreement on a 3-year, $78 million extension that includes $65M guaranteed and makes him the highest paid nose tackle in NFL<\/a> history,\u201d ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a> wrote on his official X account on Saturday. \u201d \u2026 The Eagles have three DTs who are extension-eligible this offseason: Jalen Carter<\/a>, Moro Ojomo<\/a>, and Jordan Davis. Davis is the first to land a big deal.\u201d<\/p>\n Davis, 6-foot-6 and 336 pounds, has been at the heart of Philadelphia\u2019s defense since he was taken with the No. 13 overall pick out of the University of Georgia in the 2022 NFL draft.<\/a> In April 2025, the Eagles exercised the 5th year option on Davis\u2019s rookie contract, which would have paid him $12.938 million in 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Eagles took his college teammate, Carter, with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft<\/a>. The former 1st-round pick hasn\u2019t missed a game since his rookie year in 2022 \u2014 and comes off a career-highs in tackles (72), sacks (4.5), TFLs (9) and snaps (686). The Eagles prioritize one of their top homegrown players with a huge multi-year deal.\u201d<\/p>\n Jordan Davis Took Star Turn With Eagles in 2025<\/p>\n Davis has started every regular-season game and playoff game for the Eagles for the last 3 seasons \u2014 56 consecutive starts.<\/p>\n Davis capped the\u00a0Eagles<\/a>\u2018 33-26 win over the\u00a0Los Angeles Rams<\/a> in Week 3 by blocking what would have been the game-winning field goal and running the ball back 66 yards for a touchdown as time expired.<\/p>\n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t a given that the defensive tackle\u2019s fifth-year option would be exercised this offseason, but that is now looking like a genius move considering the huge impact Davis has made thus far in a breakout campaign,\u201d Bleacher Report wrote after Davis\u2019 game-winning turn against the Rams.<\/p>\n In 2025, Davis was the only player in the NFL to earn both NFL Special Teams Player of the Week and NFL Defensive Player of the Week.<\/p>\n Contract Projections Missed Big for Jordan Davis<\/p>\n Spotrac projected Davis<\/a> would receive a 4-year, $81.8 million contract if he hit the open market<\/a> or the Eagles were looking at an extension \u2014 a guess that was off by over $20 million.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think people realize the Eagles have $100+ million in cap space in 2027 and $120+ million in cap space in 2028,\u201d\u00a0Philly Nation wrote<\/a> on its official X account on February 26. \u201cIf an extension is agreed to with Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith<\/a>,\u00a0Jordan Davis, and\/or Moro Ojomo they will all have sub of $10M cap hits the first two years of those deals most likely with the way they do contracts. Also in Jordan Davis\u2019 case, he will actually save them cap space in 2026 if they agreed to one this offseason.
