(Corinne Boyer, CityNews) <\/p>\nAfter hearing reports of a group of goblins were rummaging around the streets of Montreal\u2019s Old Port, our CityNews crew quickly made its way to the scene.<\/p>\n
We located a trio and can confirm they\u2019re not your typical goblins, they\u2019re taller and seem friendlier.<\/p>\n
Although, we\u2019re not sure how friendly just yet, after all they kept running off with our microphone!<\/p>\n
Wug, Kragva and Moog told us in chorus: \u201cWe are not Tolkien goblins, okay?! What do we know about Tolkien goblins \u2013 he just loved to stereotype them \u2013 they\u2019re all blood thirsty and stupid, violent, greedy!\u201d<\/p>\n
Setting aside their uncanny characteristics, we couldn\u2019t help but wonder \u2014 what can they possibly be looking for? The answer came moments later as the trio took out a map that they said served to help them search for a theatre that would adequately suit their needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you know where we could find a theatre? Ya where\u2019s the theatre?\u201d They asked collectively to patrons on the street who happened to cross their paths.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaybe we just keep going this way,\u201d suggested Kragva as she pointed in the direction of Centaur Theatre just up the hill.<\/p>\n
After setting their sights on the illustrious venue, the mischievous goblins entered the theatre in search of the perfect place to put on their own chaotic version of William Shakespeare\u2019s Macbeth, a classic tale of ambition, betrayal and madness \u2014 a seemingly perfect match for the humanoid creatures with a penchant for chaos and mayhem.<\/p>\n
When asked why they chose Macbeth of all the bards plays, the trio couldn\u2019t make up their mind.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause it\u2019s the shortest!\u201d said Wug.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cOh and it has the most blood. Ya so much blood! Well maybe not as much as Titus Andronicus, but no one wants to see that,\u201d Kragva chimed in.<\/p>\n
True to their nature, the cunning and resourceful trio fully entered the theatre, without permission, and entered a room where they brainstormed a plan to commandeer the venue.<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay we snuck into the Centaur,\u201d whispered Kragva. \u201cWe just need an audience,\u201d she added, prompting a discussion between the three as to who they\u2019d want to attend the show.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo we only want a human audience?\u201d She went on to ask.<\/p>\n
\u201cDoesn\u2019t matter to me. So, if there are elves, fairies, witches, wizards. It\u2019s the Centaur Theatre, so if you\u2019re a centaur just show up. Just buy two seats! All kinds are welcome!\u201d Said Moog.<\/p>\n
And since it\u2019s not in a goblin\u2019s nature to rehearse, they say they\u2019ll be improvising Shakespeare\u2019s typically three-hour play, but in half the time, until March 22.<\/p>\n
