Region of Peel \u2013 Officers from the Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) team located a loaded firearm and have arrested three men following a traffic stop in Mississauga. This marks the 36th illegal firearm the STEP team has seized in the last 11 months.<\/p>\n
On March 6 at approximately 10:15 pm, officers investigated a vehicle in the area of Bristol Road West and Creditview Road.\u00a0 During the investigation, officers observed the occupants to be in violation of the Cannabis Control Act.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
The occupants were instructed to exit the vehicle for a search.\u00a0 One of the accused parties fled on foot, a brief foot pursuit ensued, and the accused person was taken into custody.\u00a0 During the search of the accused, a loaded illegal handgun and a magazine containing ammunition were located.<\/p>\n
As a result, the following individuals were arrested and charged:<\/p>\n
