Ryan Strome<\/a>\u00a0had a goal and an assist in his Calgary debut, and Morgan Frost<\/a> had a goal and two assists for the Flames (25-30-7), who had gone 0-3-1 in their previous four games. Blake Coleman<\/a> also had a goal and an assist and Dustin Wolf<\/a>\u00a0made 25 saves.<\/p>\n

\u201cLong day, but as hockey players the easiest thing to do is just go out there and play, so that was the easy part,\u201d Strome said.<\/p>\n

The forward, who was traded to the Flames by the Anaheim Ducks on Friday for a seventh-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft, arrived in Calgary late Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t say enough about the guys in the room,\u201d he said. \u201cHonestly, this is a really, really good dressing room, a lot of character guys, very vocal. It made it very easy on me, very welcoming.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seth Jarvis<\/a> had a goal and two assists, and Sebastian Aho<\/a>\u00a0had three assists for the Hurricanes (40-17-6), who had won two straight games and seven of their past eight. Andrei Svechnikov<\/a> had a goal and an assist, and Brandon Bussi<\/a>\u00a0made 20 saves.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got back in the game, but you can\u2019t play 10 minutes of good hockey and think you\u2019re going to win a hockey game,\u201d Carolina coach Rod Brind\u2019Amour said. \u201cWe weren\u2019t very good, really start to finish, so we got what we deserved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jarvis gave Carolina a 1-0 lead 44 seconds into the first period, taking a cross-ice pass from Svechnikov at the bottom of the right circle and sending a wrist shot into the net over Wolf\u2019s glove.<\/p>\n

Strome scored 19 seconds into the second period to pull the Flames into a 1-1 tie. Situated at the left side of the net, Strome took a pass from Olli Maatta<\/a> and lifted a shot over Bussi, who had fallen to the ice and was laying on his back.<\/p>\n

Maatta was also making his Flames debut, coming over in a trade from the Utah Mammoth on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously when you see one go in, it feels good, too,\u201d Strome said. \u201cIt was fun.
