Melanson made it 1-0 at 8:45 of the first period off a 3-on-2 rush. Ben Meyers<\/a> drove to the net and tipped Ryan Winterton<\/a>\u2019s shot out of the air. Melanson found the rebound and chipped it over a sprawling Ullmark.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fourth line\u2019s been, in my opinion, our best line for the most part,\u201d Seattle defenseman Brandon Montour<\/a>\u00a0said. \u201cThey don\u2019t necessarily have to score goals every night, but they\u2019re creating energy. \u2018Mel\u2019 has been a big boost. Tyler Kleven<\/a> tied it 1-1, 34 seconds later at 9:19, sliding down from the point to the left circle, catching a saucer pass from Pinto in the far corner, and snapping it past Daccord\u2019s glove.<\/p>\n

Dylan Cozens<\/a> gave Ottawa a 2-1 lead at 13:35, cutting across the slot and wristing a shot from the right circle that went off Daccord\u2019s left arm and in.<\/p>\n

Pinto pushed it to 3-1 at 1:34 of the second period when Artem Zub<\/a>\u2019s shot from the point bounced off Daccord\u2019s blocker, then Pinto\u2019s leg and into the net.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ve had a few chances the last few games, and they\u2019re finally going in,\u201d Pinto said. \u201cHopefully I can just continue and help the team win.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Amadio extended the lead to 4-1 at 10:09 after Pinto found him in the slot from behind the net, and Amadio redirected it past Daccord\u2019s glove with a wrist shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re reading off each other well. [Amadio] and [Cousins] do a great job of supporting and winning battles, and they\u2019re super smart players,\u201d Pinto said. \u201cThey\u2019re super smart players, and pucks are going in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tolvanen cut it to 4-2 at 15:00 with a slap shot from the top of the right circle past Ullmark\u2019s glove.\u00a0The goal came while\u00a0Melanson was battling in front of the net with Kleven to create a screen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s how we have to play,\u201d\u00a0Tolvanen said. \u201cIt\u2019s playoff time. We have to start playing like [Melanson] does, go to the net, be physical. That\u2019s why we got the turnover, that\u2019s why I got the puck — because he\u2019s playing physical.\u201d<\/p>\n

Warren Foegele<\/a>, playing his first game for Ottawa after he was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday, made it 5-2 at 2:42 of the third period after Lars Eller<\/a>\u00a0intercepted Daccord\u2019s clearing attempt. Eller then slid it to Foegele, who scored through Daccord\u2019s five-hole from the slot.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guys, staff, everyone here has been so welcoming and super supportive,\u201d Foegele said. \u201cThat makes it a lot easier, especially because these last 48 hours have been pretty wild in that sense. \u2026 It felt really good to get a win, and obviously it felt nice to contribute as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c[Foegele] was awesome,\u201d Pinto said. \u201cI think when you score, it\u2019s obviously great, but I think he was doing all things right.
