Day six at WTA Indian Wells brings us eight third-round matches in the women\u2019s draw, and there\u2019s plenty of intrigue. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule, including Elena Rybakina vs Marta Kostyuk. But who will live to fight another day in the desert?<\/p>\n
WTA Indian Wells Day 6 Predictions
\nMirra Andreeva vs Katerina Siniakova<\/p>\n
Head-to-head: first meeting<\/p>\n
Mirra Andreeva kicked off her title defence in emphatic fashion, double-bagelling Solana Sierra in just 50 minutes, which is about as ominous a statement as you can make early in a tournament. Katerina Siniakova, for her part, earned her spot here the hard way \u2014 outlasting Leylah Fernandez in 3 hours and 28 minutes in what stood as the second-longest match on tour this season.<\/p>\n
That kind of effort takes something out of you, and Andreeva\u2019s ability to dismantle opponents with precision and pace from the baseline makes this a very tough ask for the Czech. Siniakova knows how to compete, but doing so at this level against a player in this kind of form is a different challenge entirely. The legs and the tank may both be running low here.<\/p>\n

Karolina Muchova vs Antonia Ruzic<\/p>\n
Head-to-head: first meeting<\/p>\n
Antonia Ruzic has been a revelation, upsetting former top-4 player Zheng Qinwen 6-4 7-5 in her Indian Wells debut\u2014doubling her career top-20 wins since January. She\u2019s riding high on confidence. Karolina Muchova, however, extended her winning streak to seven with a solid win over Anna Bondar. Her varied, unpredictable style\u2014strong net play and creativity\u2014poses problems for rising players. Muchova\u2019s experience on hard courts tips the scales.<\/p>\n

Elina Svitolina vs Ashlyn Krueger<\/p>\n
Head-to-head: Svitolina 2\u20132 Krueger\u00a0<\/p>\n
Elina Svitolina has been in excellent form in 2026, winning 15 of 18 matches, including a title in Auckland and an Australian Open semi-final. She battled past Laura Siegemund in the second round but consistently finds ways to win. Ashlyn Krueger impressed with a comeback over Liudmila Samsonova and believes in her chances given the even head-to-head. Her flat, aggressive shots can trouble opponents, but Svitolina\u2019s mental toughness and experience give her the edge.<\/p>\n

Maria Sakkari vs Iga Swiatek<\/p>\n
Head-to-head:\u00a0Sakkari 4\u20134 Swiatek\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sakkari produced one of the results of the season so far in Doha last month, coming from a set down to beat Swiatek 2-6 6-4 7-5 \u2014 becoming the first player to ever defeat Swiatek in a WTA 1000 match after losing the opening set.\u00a0 It was the kind of win that announced Sakkari\u2019s comeback in neon lights. But Swiatek has won both of their previous meetings here at Indian Wells, and she holds a 23-3 record in the desert overall.<\/p>\n
Iga Swiatek has also spoken openly about understanding exactly why she lost in Doha and going back to the training court to address it specifically.\u00a0 That self-awareness and ability to correct course mid-tournament has been a hallmark of her career. Sakkari will bring the same flat, aggressive game that unsettled Swiatek last time, but the slow courts here suit Swiatek\u2019s heavy spin and physicality tilt this encounter firmly in her corner.<\/p>\n
