It was a white tablet with the markings TEC and was tested through Health Canada\u2019s drug-testing service Feb. 13. The tranquilizer is intended only for animals, and since it is not an opioid, the effects of overdoses caused by medetomidine can\u2019t be reversed with naloxone, Street Connections has warned.<\/p>\n<p>A previous <a href=\"https:\/\/streetconnections.ca\/files\/Pubic-Health-Alert_Medetomidine-in-Winnipegs-Drug-Supply_Street-Connections.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">public-health alert<\/a> in February warned the drug\u2019s presence had been confirmed in Winnipeg at various concentrations, usually mixed with fentanyl.
