Vancouver Whitecaps FC<\/p>\n

What: Vancouver Whitecaps continue their MLS season this week with several exciting home games at BC Place. Cheer on the \u2018Caps as they face the Seattle Sounders in the CONCACAF Champions Cup \u2013 Round of 16 on Thursday, March 12, and Minnesota United FC on Sunday, March 15.<\/p>\n

Cherry Blossoms have a rich history in Vancouver, dating back to the 1930s when the mayors of Kobe and Yokohama gifted 500 trees to honour Japanese-Canadian World War I veterans. Today, there are more than 40,000 cherry blossom trees in Vancouver, with spring signalling the age-old Japanese tradition of flower viewing known as hanami. On March 15, Whitecaps FC will join in this cultural experience with a Cherry Blossom-themed match at BC Place.<\/p>\n

What: The City of North Vancouver\u2019s free Shipyards Skate Plaza is welcoming skaters of all ages to glide on the approximately 12,000 sq ft surface daily from 12 to 8 p.m. Fun can be had no matter the weather \u2013 the Shipyards Skate Plaza is covered by a retractable roof.<\/p>\n

Admission: Free. Skate rentals are available for $7 for adults and $5 for children (quantities are limited)<\/p>\n

What:\u00a0Bite of Burnaby is a month-long event that aims to support the city\u2019s diverse dining establishments by offering special, affordably-priced menus at participating restaurants.<\/p>\n

From now until March 31, the more than 65 restaurants included in the festival will offer special menus, combos, and deals at set prices ranging from $10 to $60. It\u2019s a great opportunity to enjoy your favourites or dig into something new.<\/p>\n

What: Warm up your thumbs and get ready to set the high score, because Vancouver\u2019s newest arcade has officially opened its doors.<\/p>\n

VanCity Pinball & Arcade is a gaming destination with over 60 pinball machines, with vintage titles like Evel Knievel\u00a0from 1977 and\u00a0The Addams Family\u00a0from 1992, to newer ones such as\u00a0Deadpool\u00a0from 2018 and\u00a0Godzilla from 2021. There are also more than 10 arcade machines, ranging from classic titles to modern-day games like\u00a0Big Buck Hunter,\u00a0Skee-Ball, and\u00a0Mario Kart.<\/p>\n
