Lewis Hamilton has insisted that he is still in love with Formula 1, despite the seven-time World Champion\u2019s particularly painful weekend last time out in Hungary.<\/p>\n
Hamilton described a \u201cbig struggle\u201d after Friday\u2019s practice sessions at the Hungaroring and dramatically dropped out in the second Qualifying phase, while Ferrari team mate Charles Leclerc went on to claim pole position.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, Hamilton\u2019s comments made headlines around the world when he described himself as \u201cabsolutely useless\u201d and suggested Ferrari \u201cprobably need to change driver\u201d<\/a> as a result.<\/p>\n On race day, the Briton started and finished 12th, leading to another brief round of interviews with broadcasters, during which he said he is \u201clooking forward to going away\u201d<\/a> over the summer break.<\/p>\n In his post-race conversation with Sky Sports F1, Hamilton was asked to expand on that driver change comment and whether he could help viewers understand the remarks.<\/p>\n \u201cNot particularly,\u201d came his response. \u201cWhen you have a feeling, you have a feeling. There\u2019s a lot going on in the background that is not great.\u201d<\/p>\n When pushed in a follow-up question if he had lost his love for the sport, Hamilton stated: \u201cNo, I still love racing.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite his recent struggles, Hamilton has contributed to Ferrari sitting second in the Teams\u2019 Championship<\/a> after 14 of 24 rounds, with the Scuderia holding 260 points to third-placed Mercedes\u2019 haul of 236. In the Drivers\u2019 battle<\/a>, Hamilton sits sixth overall on 109 points, with Leclerc occupying fifth on a haul of 151.<\/p>\n Over the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicalli also voiced his opinion in support of the Ferrari driver.<\/p>\n \u201cFirst of all, Lewis is a jewel, he is an incredible athlete, so no matter if it is a difficult moment, he will react, and I\u2019m pretty sure he will show the reason why he is here,\u201d he told Sky Sports F1.<\/p>\n \u201cHe wants to achieve his eighth title, and he will triumph again.
