The 60th Labour Day Classic in Regina is officially sold out — and that’s worth celebrating.

Over 33,000 fans will pack Mosaic Stadium to watch the Riders and Bombers renew the CFL’s fiercest rivalry. It’s a game loaded with history, pride, and prairie passion.

But here’s the truth: this shouldn’t be a once-a-year moment. In Saskatchewan, where football is practically a way of life, packed stadiums should be the standard — not the exception.

Yes, Labour Day is special. Sixty years of tailgates, trash talk, and tradition deserves the spotlight. But Rider Nation has always been one of the CFL’s most loyal fan bases. That energy should carry into every home game, not just when Winnipeg rolls into town.

The CFL also has a role to play — with stronger marketing and fan engagement — to keep that momentum alive week after week.

A sellout on Labour Day proves the passion is still there. Now let’s make sure it shows up all season long.

Let this be the benchmark — not the outlier.
