{"id":525627,"date":"2026-03-10T00:18:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T00:18:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/525627\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T00:18:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T00:18:10","slug":"hamilton-woman-accused-of-kidnapping-after-setting-up-a-fake-date-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/525627\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamilton woman accused of kidnapping after setting up a fake date: police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Toronto police are on the hunt for an 18-year-old Hamilton woman who is wanted in connection with a suspected kidnapping investigation.<\/p>\n<p>According to investigators, the suspect allegedly lured someone to the area of St. Clair Avenue West and Christie Street after midnight on July 26, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival, the victim was ambushed by a group of males,\u201d police wrote in a news release issued on Monday. \u201cThe victim was forced into a vehicle [\u2026] driven around for several hours while demands were made for money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say the victim was assaulted and located by police within a few hours. They sustained non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives have identified the suspect as 18-year-old Ashley Crenshaw of Hamilton.
