rides gifted to\u00a0cycling community\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After years of volunteering as a cycling advocate and ride leader in Tasmania, one of our volunteers\u00a0went\u00a0a step further, creating\u00a0a library of self-guided rides open to all to use.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Bicycle Network Tasmania\u00a0self-guided rides have been developed by Di\u00a0Elliffe, who has worn many hats over the years, including\u00a0Bicycle Tasmania President and now the coordinator of our free social rides program.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ride library is housed on\u00a0the\u00a0RidewithGPS\u00a0website, under its\u00a0Ambassador\u00a0banner:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassadors\/414-bicycle-network-tasmania\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bicycle Network Tasmania &#8211; Discover Tasmania on two wheels<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The collection has been\u00a0building\u00a0since 2018\u00a0and each time a significant new piece of infrastructure is finished Di gets on her bike with other regular riders and maps the\u00a0route for everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Each year she\u00a0takes a look\u00a0at the popularity of each\u00a0of the rides to better cater for her growing readership.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, the Launceston to Hobart route\u00a0via the east coast,\u00a0which is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/2271-giro-tasmania-3-weeks-part-1-hobart-to-l\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">part one of the Giro Tasmania ride<\/a>,\u00a0has continued to rocket up the charts since it was uploaded\u00a0in 2023\u00a0and now sits as the second most popular\u00a0with more than 2500 views in the past year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is\u00a0probably the\u00a0most popular touring bike route in Tasmania, known\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0coastal vistas\u00a0that\u00a0take\u00a0in\u00a0Freycinet\u00a0and Maria Island national parks.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ambassodor-routes.webp.webp\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/2288-giro-tasmania-3-weeks-part-2-launceston-\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Giro Tasmania part two ride<\/a>, from\u00a0Launceston\u00a0to Hobart via the west coast, has also\u00a0proved popular,\u00a0with\u00a0more than 1000 views in the past year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The most viewed is one of the earlier routes, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/1463-white-hills-winery-loop\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">White Hills Winery Loop<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0rounding out the top five are\u00a0three\u00a0other 2018 additions:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/1465-longford-cressy-woolmers-heritage\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Longford-Cressy-Woolmers\u00a0Heritage<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/1659-oatlands-andover-parattah\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oatlands-Andover-Parattah<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/1555-devonport-to-launceston\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Devonport to Launceston<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The newest additions featuring the north-western\u00a0Coastal Pathway\u00a0are quickly rising in popularity:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/2489-turners-beach-latrobe-and-back\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Turners Beach-Latrobe and Back<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/2516-turners-beach-sulphur-creek-and-back\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Turners Beach-Sulphur Creek and Back<\/a>, as is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/2343-north-east-rail-trail\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">North-East Rail Trail<\/a>\u00a0route, all of which were only added 2 years ago and are receiving hundreds of views a year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/2709-wynyard-burnie-and-back\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wynyard-Burnie and Back<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ridewithgps.com\/ambassador_routes\/2882-easy-lap-of-north-bruny\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Easy Lap of North Bruny<\/a>\u00a0have both just gone up, adding to the wealth of riding options available in our compact state.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ride guides include a map and downloadable directions, with suggestions for where to\u00a0stop for\u00a0toilet breaks, photo opportunities, meals, and tourism attractions.\u00a0They are designed for average ability riders who want to stop and enjoy what the
