A suspect wanted Canada-wide who\u2019s been evading capture for several years, and another wanted in Alberta on an assault with a weapon charge are among the 49 fugitives arrested by police during a three-day operation last week.<\/p>\n
Authorities say 118 arrest warrants were executed across 34 communities during the March 2-4 operation led by the Fugitive Apprehension Sheriffs Support Team (FASST) of the Alberta Sheriffs.<\/p>\n
Alberta Sheriffs say members from multiple police forces \u2013 including the RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service \u2013 split into four teams to make the arrests.<\/p>\n
Among the fugitives taken into police custody was Stephane Beaumont, a 43-year-old from Quebec who was wanted Canada-wide by Correctional Service of Canada for allegedly breaching parole.<\/p>\n
Also arrested was 35-year-old Jordan Winnie, wanted for assault with a weapon, mischief and four separate failures to attend court; and 63-year-old Darrell Morin, considered a prolific offender allegedly linked to thefts targeting oil well lease sites in central Alberta.<\/p>\n
