While the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> are clearly the best team in baseball, they could still look to add another frontline starter despite already having an elite rotation.<\/p>\n

In a recent proposal, FanSided\u2019s Mark Powell pitched a trade between the Dodgers and the Detroit Tigers<\/a>. In Powell\u2019s trade, Los Angeles would receive Tarik Skubal, while Detroit would land a package featuring outfielder Zyhir Hope, right-hander River Ryan, and third baseman Chase Harlan.<\/p>\n

While the Dodgers already have plenty of pitching, Powell believes that adding another elite arm could still make sense, given the injuries and other factors the Dodgers have dealt with.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Dodgers don’t have to trade for Tarik Skubal, as their rotation is deep enough as is,\u201d Powell wrote<\/a>. \u201cHowever, with the recent spring struggles of Roki Sasaki and the unpredictable nature of Shohei Ohtani<\/a> on the mound (injury-wise), adding another top-tier arm is a good idea. Blake Snell won’t be ready for Opening Day, either.\u201d<\/p>\n

Powell also wrote that the timing could play a role in whether a deal would make sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one caveat for the Dodgers is that they could wait until the trade deadline or offseason to acquire Skubal. Odds are, Skubal would be a little less expensive in July than he is now, as he’d only have a few starts remaining in the regular season and postseason.\u201d<\/p>\n

If Los Angeles wants to continue to chase championships, which we all know it does, don\u2019t be shocked if it makes another move eventually, whether it\u2019s Skubal or another starter.<\/p>\n
