In the midst of frankly insane market conditions, Oppo and OnePlus have confirmed plans to raise prices of existing smartphones and other products starting next week.<\/p>\n

The ongoing shortage of RAM and storage has led to some rough outlooks on the year ahead, with a recent forecast predicting that the smartphone market as a whole could shrink by around 13% this year<\/a> \u2013 that\u2019s a bigger drop than we saw during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It\u2019s not looking good, and OEMs in China have been predicted to deal with the worst impacts.<\/p>\n

Now, Oppo and OnePlus have announced that their existing smartphones will be seeing price hikes starting on March 16. <\/p>\n

In a notice through its online store (via GizmoChina<\/a>), Oppo explains that the \u201crising costs\u201d of \u201cseveral key mobile phone components\u201d will lead to readjustments for prices across some of Oppo\u2019s more affordable smartphones, as well as OnePlus smartphones. Oppo flagships will not be affected, at least for now.<\/p>\n

Oppo\u2019s notice says:<\/p>\n

Dear user,<\/p>\n

In response to rising costs of several key mobile phone components, including high-speed storafge hardware, we have made the following decision after careful evaluation: Starting from 0:00 on March 16, 2026, Oppo will adjust the prices of some of its already-released products in order to continue to ensure excellent product quality and user experience. <\/p>\n

Currently, the products affected by the price adjustment include the Oppo A Series, K Series, and OnePlus, but do not include Oppo Find series, Reno series, and Oppo Pad series.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if price hikes will expand beyond China, or if they\u2019ll affect OnePlus devices sold in the United States. But this is certainly a grim reminder of just how big the market impacts are right now.<\/p>\n
