Honcho is an upcoming automobile sim that tasks you with reclaiming your grandfather\u2019s legacy by making your mark on the \u201ccut-throat\u201d world of vending machine tycoonism. According to its developer, Minskworks, Honcho is a \u201cheartfelt story of betrayal, mystery and hope\u201d that will see its protagonist Keiko evolve from deliverywoman all the way up to a property magnate.<\/p>\n
Some people aren\u2019t happy about that. Not because you\u2019re roleplaying as a landlord, which would be a justifiable complaint, but rather because you have to play as a woman. As detailed in an interview with Polygon<\/a>, Minskworks\u2019 developer Greg Pryjmachuk explained that they\u2019d see these complaints about this on X, YouTube, and Discord, but the straw that broke the camel\u2019s back was this post<\/a> on Honcho\u2019s Steam Discussion Board.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s really only one thing that I am hoping for and that\u2019s the ability to build a play as a male character if you wanted to,\u201d reads the post. \u201cI know I have talked to you on Reddit before, but I\u2019m not a fan of playing a female characters. Kind of ruins my immersion honestly.\u201d<\/p>\n Minskworks is a small independent studio, and Honcho doesn\u2019t even have a publisher yet, so Pryjmachuk didn\u2019t want to dedicate hours of dev time to \u201canimating, rigging, and testing a whole new character model\u201d with custom dialogue and unique outfits.
