On the latest episode of the\u00a032 Thoughts: The Podcast,\u00a0Sportsnet\u2019s\u00a0Elliotte Friedman brought up an incident involving\u00a0Edmonton Oilers\u2019<\/a>\u00a0goaltender Tristan Jarry and some of his teammates.<\/p>\n

According to Friedman<\/a>, Jarry \u201cgot into it at practice\u201d with some of his Oilers teammates, and while he didn\u2019t go into details on the alleged incident, it does symbolize a frustrating year for an Edmonton group that\u2019s trying to make the Stanley Cup Final for a third consecutive season. <\/p>\n

Through 13 games with the Oilers, Jarry is 6-5-1 with an .862 save percentage (SV%) and 3.96 goals against average (GAA). In his last 10 apperances, Jarry has a minus-6.1 goals saved above expected (GSAx).<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE<\/a>, Tyler Yaremchuk and former NHL video coach Steve Peters discuss the rumors in Edmonton and whether it will have an impact on the season. <\/p>\n

Tyler Yaremchuk: I\u2019m of the camp that this s\u2013t happens over the course of a season, and when you\u2019re losing, everyone is frustrated, and some people are more outspoken with their frustration than others. <\/p>\n

But when you look at how many games Edmonton has lost this year because of their goaltending, the fact that there\u2019s maybe some fraction there, what would your concern level be when you read this headline?<\/p>\n

Steve Peters: Not very concerned. We talked about this on Oilers Nation the other day, about how whether it\u2019s the goalie\u2019s fault or if it\u2019s how they defend. To see a goalie be vocal to his teammates is not uncommon, but to do it on the ice when the media is around, it is. <\/p>\n

In my 22 years with the Arizona Coyotes organization, there\u2019s been multiple fistfights in the locker room. It happens. Goalies get involved because they\u2019re at the pinnacle of the position. Games can live and die on how they play. <\/p>\n

Now if it\u2019s because, \u201chey, we\u2019ve got to be better defensively and I\u2019m doing the best I can, you guys need to help me,\u201d that\u2019s one message. Or, if it\u2019s, \u201cyou guys stink and I\u2019m trying to save the day,\u201d that\u2019s bad. <\/p>\n
