Brampton auto worker Delroy Shand says he\u2019s staying on the job and needs \u201ca good steak\u201d after scoring a $1 million lottery win.<\/p>\n

Shand is a 60-year-old auto industry worker who moved to Canada in 1990 and has been a regular lottery player ever since.<\/p>\n

He bought a ticket for the Feb. 4 Lotto 6\/49 draw and paid an extra $1 for an Encore play \u2013 a decision he says made him \u201c$1 million richer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shand matched all seven numbers in the exact order, winning a $1 million prize.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels fantastic. Today is a touching day for me,\u201d he said while picking up his winnings at the OLG prize centre in Toronto.<\/p>\n

Shand says he plans to use the money to buy a new house and save for retirement, but won\u2019t be leaving his job just yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to quit work. I love my job,\u201d Shand said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to spend my win on anything lavish either. I just want to focus on my family and my retirement. And I think I need a good steak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in with most lottery games for an extra $1.\u00a0The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Eglington Avenue West in Etobicoke.<\/p>\n
