{"id":527821,"date":"2026-03-10T23:19:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T23:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/527821\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T23:19:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T23:19:09","slug":"the-5th-car-free-day-surrey-festival-needs-vendors-for-june-date-in-newton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/527821\/","title":{"rendered":"The 5th Car Free Day Surrey festival needs vendors for June date in Newton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              The 5th Car Free Day Surrey festival needs vendors for June date in Newton<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Surrey\u2019s fifth Car-Free Day event will return to streets of Newton on Saturday, June 6.<\/p>\n<p>Vendors are sought for the 2026 community festival, held noon to 8 p.m. on 137 Street between 72A and 74 avenues.<\/p>\n<p>The street in Newton Town Centre will become a pedestrians-only venue with multiple stages, artisan vendors, local merchants and family-friendly fun, rain or shine.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free at the one-day festival, which celebrates businesses with storefronts on 137 Street with extended patios and booths, in addition to multiple activities for people, in a TransLink-backed effort to promote a car-free way of life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis exciting event brings together residents, businesses and organizations for a day of celebration and community spirit,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newtonbia.com\/program-listings\/car-free-day-surrey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a post on the website of Newton Business Improvement Association (newtonbia.com)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carfree.ca\/become-a-vendor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">carfree.ca\/become-a-vendor<\/a>, applications are open in several categories including performers, Newton BIA members, artisan vendors, commercial vendors, non-profits and brand activations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether you\u2019re a local business looking to connect with the community or a food vendor eager to share your delicious creations, Car Free Day Surrey is the perfect opportunity to get involved and make a positive impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last June, <a href=\"https:\/\/surreynowleader.com\/2025\/06\/09\/photos-surrey-festival-urges-car-free-way-of-life-with-translink-backing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">sunny weather made for a warm Car Free Day Surrey<\/a>, among several such events in Metro Vancouver presented by TransLink, local municipalities and business improvement associations, including the one in Newton.
