Apple\u2019s Shortcuts app lets you set up complex shortcuts, including with the 25+ new actions<\/a> available in iOS 26. But my two favorite and most used shortcuts in Apple\u2019s app involve just a single step each.<\/p>\n

#1: One-tap noise cancellation for AirPods Pro<\/p>\n

My all-time most used shortcut is designed to activate noise cancellation on AirPods Pro.<\/p>\n

I use AirPods Pro 3<\/a>, but the shortcut works with any AirPods model that supports Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).<\/p>\n

My \u2018Noise Cancellation\u2019 shortcut<\/a> does one thing, quickly and efficiently: it toggles AirPods\u2019 noise cancellation on.<\/p>\n

Whenever I want to activate ANC, I swipe to open Control Center, then tap the \u2018Noise Cancellation\u2019 button I\u2019ve set up there via the \u2018Run Shortcut\u2019 control.<\/p>\n

Squeezing the AirPods\u2019 tip to activate ANC is an easy enough alternative, but I\u2019ve found that too often I\u2019ll accidentally do it when ANC was already active. Thus, I enter Transparency mode and have to squeeze again for ANC.<\/p>\n

And the noise control modes hidden behind Control Center\u2019s volume slider take more steps to access than I\u2019d prefer.<\/p>\n

With my custom shortcut, I don\u2019t have to think about what mode I\u2019m in, or jump through several steps. I just tap the Control Center button, and if ANC wasn\u2019t on yet, it will turn on. If it was already active, nothing happens.<\/p>\n

It may seem like a small thing, but when you regularly go in and out of Transparency and Noise Cancellation modes, it\u2019s very nice having a one-tap option to engage ANC.<\/p>\n

#2: Open app settings with no hassle<\/p>\n

When Apple redesigned the iPhone\u2019s Settings app in iOS 18, it buried app settings behind multiple taps and lots of scrolling.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, last year Quinn Nelson shared a single-step shortcut<\/a> that solves the problem.<\/p>\n

With Nelson\u2019s shortcut, whenever you\u2019re using an app and need to access its settings, you can do so with ease via Control Center.<\/p>\n

Setup is extremely simple:<\/p>\n

Install\u00a0this single-step \u2018App Settings\u2019 shortcut<\/a><\/p>\n

Add a Control Center \u2018Run Shortcut\u2019 control<\/p>\n

Assign that control to your new \u2018App Settings\u2019 shortcut<\/p>\n

The basic premise of the shortcut is that 99% of the time, when you want to access an app\u2019s settings, you\u2019re already using that app.<\/p>\n

So rather than leaving the app, opening Settings, scrolling down to find \u2018Apps,\u2019 then scrolling again to find the app and tapping it\u2014you can just invoke Control Center and tap the \u2018App Settings\u2019 shortcut. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

This single-step Apple Shortcut is a GAME CHANGER. No more going to Settings -> Apps -> and then finding the app.<\/p>\n

It might take a bit to break old habits of manually launching the Settings app, but once you do, this shortcut will save you several steps every time.<\/p>\n
