{"id":527920,"date":"2026-03-11T00:22:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T00:22:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/527920\/"},"modified":"2026-03-11T00:22:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T00:22:13","slug":"teen-accused-of-2-gunpoint-carjackings-involving-rideshare-vehicles-in-brampton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/527920\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen accused of 2 gunpoint carjackings involving rideshare vehicles in Brampton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A 17-year-old is facing more than a dozen charges in connection with two gunpoint carjackings involving ride-share vehicles in Brampton last week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Peel police said the first incident occurred on March 1, shortly before 8 p.m., on Cedar Lake Crescent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe suspect, posing as a customer and wearing a face covering, pulled out a handgun and demanded that the victim get out of the vehicle before fleeing in it,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peelpolice.ca\/news-feed\/posts\/young-person-arrested-following-ride-share-carjackings-in-brampton-pr260072687\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.peelpolice.ca\/news-feed\/posts\/young-person-arrested-following-ride-share-carjackings-in-brampton-pr260072687\/\">police said in a news release on Tuesday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The next incident happened the following day on Salisbury Circle shortly after 11 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said the suspect allegedly robbed a second driver at gunpoint and fled in the victim\u2019s vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Officers responded and found the second vehicle nearby.
