VANCOUVER City Council approved the first round of community services and social grants for 2026. $5.1M will go to non-profit organizations delivering essential services across the city.<\/p>\n

This funding supports a broad range of programs\u2014from neighbourhood houses and childcare supports to youth programming\u00a0and\u00a0climate action initiatives\u2014that advance City priorities for a\u00a0vibrant,\u00a0equitable, safe\u00a0and healthy city where everyone can thrive.<\/p>\n

\u201cNon-profit organizations play an important role in supporting people and strengthening neighbourhoods across Vancouver,\u201d said Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim. \u201cThe initiatives supported today reflect the wide range of work happening in our city, from helping families and youth to building more inclusive and connected communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Funding highlights:<\/p>\n

$1.3M in neighbourhood\u00a0house\u00a0grants providing core operational and service funding for neighbourhood houses across Vancouver. The grants support programs, activities and services that advance the goals of the\u00a0City\u2019s\u00a0recently\u00a0renewed\u00a0Healthy City Strategy<\/a>.
\n$1.6M in\u00a0core\u00a0support\u00a0grants to organizations that\u00a0deliver essential social\u00a0services\u00a0and help mitigate conditions that create vulnerabilities\u00a0for Vancouver residents. Recipients include Atira Women\u2019s Resources Society, East Side Family Place, Family Services of Greater Vancouver, Thunderbird Neighbourhood Association and QMUNITY.
\n$620,000 in grants to childcare organizations\u00a0including the Vancouver Society of Children\u2019s Centres and Westcoast Family Centres Society, supporting operations,\u00a0capital expansions\u00a0and capacity-building initiatives.
\n$290,000 in community climate action grants for place-based, community-driven initiatives that advance the City\u2019s\u00a0Climate Emergency Action Plan<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Climate Change Adaptation Strategy<\/a>, while promoting equity and local resilience.<\/p>\n
