The blockbuster trade involving defensive end Maxx Crosby is off, with the Las Vegas Raiders announcing Tuesday that the Baltimore Ravens backed out of the deal.<\/p>\n
The Raiders didn’t disclose a reason for the nixed agreement, but the deal collapsed due to Crosby’s physical, sources told The Athletic’s Dianna Russini<\/a>. Crosby suffered a meniscus injury during the 2025 season, leading the Raiders to shut him down prematurely. It’s unclear if his knee issue prompted the Ravens’ concerns.<\/p>\n Baltimore reportedly agreed<\/a> Friday to send two first-round picks to Las Vegas for the star edge rusher, who appeared excited to join the Ravens.<\/p>\n “I’m gonna give everything in my heart and soul to bring a championship to Baltimore,” Crosby said<\/a> after the teams initially agreed to the exchange.<\/p>\n Trades and free-agent agreements can’t be finalized until 4 p.m. Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the new league year.<\/p>\n The Raiders have been extremely active in free agency, handing out $281 million in contracts while assuming they’d be saving $30 million with Crosby’s contract coming off the books. Las Vegas’ most expensive move was a three-year, $81-million agreement with Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Baltimore saw incumbent players like Linderbaum, tight end Isaiah Likely, edge rusher Dre’Mont Jones, and safety Alohi Gilman strike deals elsewhere as it prepared to acquire Crosby.<\/p>\n The Dallas Cowboys, who reportedly came in second in the Crosby trade sweepstakes, aren’t expected to jump back into the bidding immediately, reports Russini<\/a>. Dallas reportedly has a deal in place to acquire Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers. Both the Ravens and Cowboys entered the offseason with major pass-rush deficiencies.<\/p>\n
