Morgan Barron<\/a> scored, and Connor Hellebuyck<\/a>\u00a0made 31 saves for the Jets (26-27-10), who had points in their previous six games (4-0-2).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe laid a big fat egg,\u201d Winnipeg coach Scott Arniel said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t execute. We didn\u2019t compete on pucks, chased the whole game. They had the puck most of the night. When we did have it, we turned it over. \u2026 Everybody was off. \u2026 Everybody was missing. On a night where we knew we had to be at our very, very best against a very good team, we didn\u2019t. We weren\u2019t good enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a scoreless first period, Barron put the Jets on the board 1-0 at 5:04 of the second period, deflecting an Elias Salomonsson<\/a>\u00a0one-timer from the point past Dostal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey’re laying out and blocking shots,\u201d Barron said. \u201cIt’s obviously a good team. They transition really well, and they defended well, but there’s definitely a lot we can do better. (We) just didn’t get over pucks and find ways to put pucks behind them. We made their life easy on them probably tonight, and they made us pay.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first two of Anaheim’s three straight goals came 14 seconds apart, starting with\u00a0Tim Washe<\/a>‘s goal at 6:24 that tied it 1-1. Washe beat Winnipeg defenseman Haydn Fleury<\/a> for the rebound of a Jansen Harkins<\/a> shot from the right dot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just think those were the couple minutes where they went in,\u201d Winnipeg captain Adam Lowry<\/a> said. \u201cThat was kind of a start to finish kind of thing. I think it was more the execution, it\u2019s not an effort thing. I’d never question our effort. It was just some details, some reads, some things we talked about before the game. They’re going to be hyperaggressive, they’re going to come down the wall. \u2026 They’re a team that kind of thrives on turnovers, and they do a real good job creating and bringing that fourth man. I just think the way we played, the way we executed, really just fed into their game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Poehling pushed it to 2-1 when he got the tip on\u00a0Killorn\u2019s point shot at 6:38.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always talk about stacking,\u201d Poehling said. \u201cI thought [Ducks forward Jeffrey Viel<\/a>] did a great job of just being net-front, kind of blocking the guy, and then I got in the top there, and [Killorn] just threw one on net. We always try to tip-in, and that one ended up going in.
