Charley Hull revealed she was shouting for her boyfriend for help yesterday after thinking she had broken her ankle when falling over a curb ahead of the PIF London Championship at Centurion Club.<\/p>\n
Hull<\/a>, 29, lines up as the home favourite in this week’s Ladies European Tour event off the back of her brilliant tie for second at the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl in Wales.\u00a0<\/p>\n After last week’s final major of the season, Hull made a shock confession<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The popular Englishman admitted she had a pep in her step after leaving the locker room on Wednesday only for her to fall over a curb in the car park.<\/p>\n Hull said she heard a pop sound and initially thought she may have broken her ankle, while also feeling like she was about to faint.\u00a0<\/p>\n While lying on the tarmac in pain and in front of a security guard, Hull said she was shouting out for her boyfriend<\/a> to come and help.<\/p>\n But someone nearby to her in the car park quickly assisted.\u00a0<\/p>\n Hull plans to get an MRI scan this afternoon to rule out anything more severe than a sprained ankle, and she very much plans to continue competing in the PIF London Championship in front of her adoring home fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I booked a four or five-hour practice session with my coach on Wednesday, which is nice and quiet and I love practicing. I was really excited all week,” said Hull.<\/p>\n “Coming out of the locker room, I had a skip in my step because I love practicing, but then I fell over a curb in the car park and was lying on the floor shouting for my boyfriend to come get me.\u00a0<\/p>\n “The security guard was watching me and I heard my ankle pop. I thought I broke it.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Someone picked me up and put me in the car.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I went down so quickly, I nearly fainted. I was not sure if I was overreacting. I started moving my ankle and it\u2019s nowhere near as bad as I thought.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I will get an MRI today. I\u2019m gutted I couldn\u2019t practice yesterday and took Monday and Tuesday off.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I usually feel guilty if I take more than two days off practice. Up until three years ago, I never took more than one or two days off golf. Over Christmas I took five or six days, but that was the maximum. I just want to go out and hit some balls to see how it feels. I\u2019m a very clumsy person.”<\/p>\n Charley Hull back in action… hopefully! \u2014 Richard Kaufman \ud83c\udf99\u26f3\ufe0f\u26bd\ufe0f (@KaufmanRichard) August 7, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Hull then joked that she’s just generally a very “clumsy person”.\u00a0<\/p>\n She told how European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn recently joked that everytime he sees her she’s on the floor.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Thomas Bjorn was watching me on the floor and said every time he sees me, I\u2019m lying down somewhere,” said Hull.<\/p>\n “I don\u2019t do it on purpose; I\u2019m naturally clumsy.\u00a0<\/p>\n “My sister is the clumsiest person I know, and I used to make fun of her for it.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I fell over in the middle of the road about two years ago.
